It was... nice, having extra people about the place. Certainly better than trying to spend Hogswatch by myself, and I get the feeling Evan doesn't feel he's properly caught people up on what's going on in his life until he talks to them, operational postal service or not.

Evan's here, and he's brought a friend along. They're staying until a few days after Hogswatch, I believe.
Well, at least I don't have to worry about making it through the holiday alone this year.

And by that, I mean the letter-sending my brother usually gets up to has picked back up along with the postal service. He says he might come up to visit around Hogswatch, now that he's got no pressing obligations.

Finally made it through all of Evan's letter - I had to read it in bits and pieces, whenever I wasn't too busy or too tired to deal with it. He must have been writing that thing as things happened, over the months, to make up for only being able to send short things.
He seems to be doing well.

I've finally heard back from the things I sent out a couple of weeks ago. The mail got here the other day, but I haven't had a chance to go over it until just now.
Cordelia thanked me (and you as well, Teppic) for that package I sent off with stuff for the twins; she says they're doing quite well, and that I'm free to visit if I ever wind up back there. As that's unlikely in extremes, I think I might suggest she come here instead, once the girls are up for traveling.
Evan, on the other hand, easily wrote twenty pages here. I'm only on the third so far, and it looks like he's trying to make up for gods know how many months of not being able to write proper letters. This will certainly be interesting.

Since it seems the postal service is finally functioning again, I've got some things to get in the mail. Evan will probably send an entire book back, as there's only so much you can fit in a clacks and he's been restricted to those for months.

Things are going well, I guess you could say.
Gwen's found a place and is moving out next weekend. And speaking of her moving, I finally got that letter she said she sent before coming to Ankh-Morpork in the first place, so I take it someone's getting the postal service back into shape.
Still slightly hectic at the restaurant, but that's fairly usual by now.

Much as being busy beyond all reason is a good thing in the monetary department, I'm rather tired of it by now.
Sent a clacks back Cordelia's way; most of what little I said was that there'll be more later, once the postal service is up and running again. Teppic, don't let me forget about those stuffed animals you said you wanted sent along, and I'll get them before I send it. (Now is perhaps not the best idea, as I might forget where they wound up.)

Meredith clacksed me the other day. Cordelia - Imp's ex-girlfriend, who has since married - had twins recently. Girls.
And she named them after Brenna and Fiona. It's a wonder she got away with it, concerning the mess surrounding those two.
I can't help thinking it's like they're getting a second chance.

Jeannie's been quiet again lately. She's hardly even singing. While that was something of a relief at first, considering for a while there she wouldn't stop (it's that 'too much of a good thing' deal), it was starting to get worrisome, so I asked her what was wrong before she left today.
She's apparently given up on the music with rocks in thing, and is trying to avoid people because it was making her act silly. I told her she might be better off if she talks to them.
At any rate, the crisis seems to be over.

Imp, I'm going to have Gwen pay your half of the rent this month, since she's been here and you haven't. Let me know when you'll be back.
Teppic, could you see if that job prospect you were looking into for Gwen is still available? I think it's time I got her out there on her own. I mean, she's been easier to deal with since she dropped the seamstress thing, but it's getting rather tiresome.
The hectic schedule's getting tiresome as well.

Happy birthday; Pseudopolis continues fine.
That got here yesterday. I think Evan's finally getting the hang of short updates, even though it's probably killing him not to send five or eight pages in one go. He'll be up to twenty by the time the mail service is working properly again, at this rate.
Someone happened by the restaurant asking if we'd put up a sign in the window about some sort of concert... Thursday, I think it said? Imp, I brought it home instead, if you'd like to have a look.

Imp, that girl was in the restaurant today. I asked her if she knew anyone who called himself Crash and she rolled her eyes and said, "Danny's causing trouble again, is he?"
She said she can be back Saturday afternoon, if you'd still like to talk to her.
And my birthday's managed to sneak up on me again - it's next week (Saturday, I think?). The third.
